Sonic Frontiers will have a free DLC set inspired by Capcom's Monster Hunter series. The announcement appeared first on Sonic the Hedgehog's official English Twitter account. Sega later published a Japanese press release that provided more in-game details of the crossover. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]
The free DLC for Frontiers will let Sonic don the Rathalos Armor from the Monster Hunter series. The armor will be available in two versions: The fully clad regular version and the lighter Felyne version that Palicoes wear in the original games.

The Monster Hunter DLC will also add the series' staple steak-cooking scene as a playable mini-game in Sonic Frontiers. Clearing this mini-game will make Sonic even stronger than usual.

This is not the first time Sega has collaborated with Capcom's Monster Hunter series. In late 2018, Sega and Capcom held a two-way crossover between Phantasy Star Online 2 and Monster Hunter Frontier Z. The now-defunct Monster Hunter online game received new avatar parts inspired by Rappies and other PSO2 characters, such as Quna and Risa. The then-Japanese exclusive Phantasy Star Online 2 also added Monster Hunter-inspired avatar parts and emote gestures, but it brought more content by adding Frontier Z's original monster Elzerion as an enemy boss.
Sonic Frontiers will release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 8, 2022. The game will support a total of six voiceover and twelve subtitle languages. The Monster Hunter DLC set will be available for free to all players the week after, on November 14, 2022, at 8 PM ET.
